And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NIV
Are you going through a situation in your life you never thought you’d live through and it’s taking away your peace? Let me tell you, you are not alone because God is with you. The only thing you have to do is trust that He will help you through your pain.
Is it possible to feel peace when I have so many problems? The answer is Yes
What should you do to achieve it? Your focus should not be on your problems, but on how great and wonderful God’s power is.
Even though your problem is big, God is greater and powerful. But to see Him working in your life you have to get in action.
Like an athlete has to exercise to stay fit to be able to face a challenge and beat his adversary, every believer should exercise to be ready and face our adversary (Satan), who presents itself daily through our problems or situations we are bound to experience daily.
In the midst of your problem, your attitude should be of total trust in God, leaving aside your problem and doing the following exercises:
- Pray: You should have a genuine conversation with God, in which you recognize His majesty and how great and wonderful He is. Make your plans, doubts and worries known. You will see how He comforts your heart! Don’t just limit yourself to feeling His presence, if you have a need to cry, cry in His presence, allow the Holy Spirit to manifest in your life and you will be really blessed. There are moments in which you want to talk to God but words don’t come out, your pain or your problem is so big and you just can’t. Just say “Thank you” and wait in the Lord, is in that moment when the Holy Spirit will intercede for you and tell the Father what you feel and wish from Him.
- Read the Bible: God speaks to us through His word. Before reading it, pray and ask God to let the Holy Spirit help you understand what He wants to say to you.
- Stay vigilant: set a side a time to pray and prIse God. This exercise will help you keep a closessness to God and a good relation with Him. Do not be surprised if you have set aside time to bring your worries to God and during that time He compels you to pray for someone else, just do it, because God is using you to bless someone else.
- Fast: start by setting aside a day of prayer and fasting asking for a specific need, that is what we call fasting with a purpose. The Bible says there is a certain type of need that can only be met through fasting and prayer.
- Congregate: it’s important to congregate because God manifests himself to his people in every service, there is where you’ll have the opportunity to praise him. A genuine prayer produces a praise to a God, this prepares our hearts to be transformed with his message and this is how we are blessed.
All of the experiences described above and many more you will experience when you get to God’s house and seek Him constantly. Just believe in God and he will do it. Doing this you’ll have peace and will experiment an indescribable joy, even in the midst of your problems, just like His word tell us in Phillipians … “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds”
Dare to make this change in your life and God will bless you greatly.
Keep going, don’t give up!
